History of the building
This historic half-timbered farmstead, whose foundation stone was laid in 1777, is situated in the picturesque landscape of the Aš region near the German border, close to Františkovy Lázně and the historic town of Cheb. The farm was built on a square layout typical for its time, enclosed by four buildings. The main structure was a residential half-timbered house, connected to a stable and a wooden granary. The courtyard was completed by a barn standing opposite the residential building. Our connection to the estate began in 1946, during the post-war expulsion of the German population, when the farm was allocated to the Jokeš family, to whom we are related. The family lived and farmed here until the 1990s.
Our contribution
At the turn of the 21st century, a decision was made to restore the farm and establish a small family-run organic farm. We focus primarily on organic and ecological production, including beef cattle breeding (Limousine and miniature Dexter cattle), horses, sheep, and poultry such as geese, ducks, and hens. We are an honorary member of the PRO-BIO Association of Organic Farmers and hold certification from KEZ (Organic Agriculture Inspection Authority) for sheep, cattle, poultry, and hay production.
